Courtesy Share! Hop on over to the Lakin Booster Club Easter Egg Hunt happening Saturday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kearny County Fairgrounds (just one mile west of Lakin)! Egg hunts for ages 3–11, entertainment by Awanas, and plenty of hot dogs & cookies to go around! Some egg prizes can be redeemed on-site, others the following week at local businesses. Let’s make it an EGG-cellent day!

𝐈𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭: WKCF’s 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 Assessment Survey launched for its second year two weeks ago! Last year, WKCF began this initiative to better understand local priorities by surveying residents in Lakin, Cimarron, Hugoton, and Liberal. The survey asked for input on community priorities, perceptions, and goals. After gathering responses, WKCF hosted meetings in each community to share the results, collaborate with local partners, and offer a grant opportunity based on the identified needs. By the end of the year, each community had the chance to receive a grant of up to $15,000 to support a project that aligned with their survey results and community discussions. In December, the 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 was awarded the $15,000 grant for a sidewalk restoration and construction project—now underway!
